Let’s Eat! legal

Privacy Policy

Last updated July 10, 2026

Let’s Eat! collects only what it needs to help you find recipes, share a pantry with your household, manage your subscription, and get support. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account details such as your email, display name, verification status, and app preferences.
  • Your pantry items, favorite recipes, recent ingredient searches, and which household you belong to.
  • Support messages you send, plus any screenshot you choose to attach. Screenshots are re-encoded before upload to remove embedded metadata such as GPS location.
  • A device push token, used to deliver notifications you have turned on.
  • Your subscription entitlement and transaction status (for example, trial, active, or expired), supplied through RevenueCat and the app stores. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
  • Limited security records, such as session details and a short-lived pseudonymous abuse-prevention key, used to protect accounts. We do not store the raw network address behind that key.
  • Anonymous public-website page-view and performance measurements, such as route, browser class, device type, country, and Web Vitals. These do not use cookies, are not linked to your account, and exclude signed-in admin pages.

How we use information

We use this information to sign you in and sync your data, return recipe matches for your ingredients, manage households and subscriptions, respond to support, prevent abuse, and keep the app reliable. If you turn on notifications, we use your account, device token, and subscription state to send service updates and occasional Let’s Eat! news or offers. We do not sell your personal information or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Recipe searches and Spoonacular

When you search for recipes, the ingredient terms you choose are sent to Spoonacular to fetch matching recipes, images, and nutrition data. These requests carry your search terms only, not your name, email, or account identity. Provider results may be cached briefly, generally for up to one hour, to keep the app fast.

Service providers

We share the minimum needed with a small set of processors, each under appropriate contractual safeguards:

  • Convex stores your application data, such as your account, pantry, and support tickets.
  • RevenueCat coordinates subscription entitlement with Apple and Google and uses purchase history linked to your account identifier to provide subscription analytics.
  • Resend delivers transactional email, such as verification and support replies.
  • Spoonacular supplies recipe, image, and nutrition data in response to your ingredient searches, without your account identity.

Sharing and households

Active household members can see the combined household pantry and who contributed each item. They cannot edit another member's personal pantry. Support screenshots are visible only to authorized support staff.

Retention and deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. When you request deletion, a 30-day recovery window starts so you can restore the account. After that window, your personal data is removed or de-identified, except for limited records we must keep for security, payment history, or law. Pseudonymous rate-limit records are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours of inactivity.

Your choices and rights

You can update your profile, leave a household, turn off notifications, or request account deletion from the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain uses. Contact us to exercise these rights, and we will verify your request before acting on it.

Children and food safety

Let’s Eat! is meant for adults managing meals and is not directed to children. Recipe, nutrition, and substitution information is not medical advice and should not be relied on to decide whether a food is safe for an allergy or health condition.
